Making bridges talk

Tower Bridge in London sends out a message to twitter every time it opens and closes, with the name of the ship and whether it’s going upstream or downstream

I agree it’s delightful that it twitters in the first person but I’d like the problem with plurals “The tugs has passed upstream”  sorted please :-)
