I am a private UK individual - resident on Chepstow. I also have property in Obidos (west coast Portugal).
My normal route is Plymouth/Santander?Lisbon and the Iberian road journey is close to 500 miles. I see that
many Portuguese venturers would welcome a UK ferry link to Galicia (VIGO?). The Portuguese proposals to develop
their west coast would surely benefit by having a direct link UK to Galicia. Altho I am not now a golfer,
the forthcoming major golf developments in the neighbourhood of Obidos would surely make good use of
the noted ferry routing, as well as the commercial vehicles that now journey from Portugal to the UK.

I'm afraid there appears to be no verifiable news since this idea was mooted last May.

In a Memorandum submitted by Milford Haven Port Authority (MHPA) (P8) then it was stated

13. As a port, we recognise we have spare capacity in our ferry terminal and are actively pursuing other routes and opportunities and in particular are working with the Port of Ferrol in North West Spain to develop a new freight service for unaccompanied freight vehicles.

So your nearest Ferry service is probably going to be Santander to Plymouth

What a very sensible idea, this will save tonnes of fuel, and be an interesting trip for the lucky passegers. Save me a ticket !
